This Privacy Policy applies to the Habiture mobile application. Habiture is designed primarily as a local-first habit-tracking and productivity app, while selected analytics, diagnostics, subscriptions, advertising, support, and security features may involve trusted third-party providers. Cloud backup is optional and copies your habit data off your device only after you choose to enable it.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Habiture, a habit-tracking and productivity mobile application developed by Amalthea Labs LLP.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, shared, retained, and protected when you use the Habiture app and its related services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information Stored on Your Device
Habiture is designed primarily as a local-first application. Detailed routine information is stored in the app's private storage on your device.
Depending on the features you use, this may include habit names, goals, units, schedules, reminders, progress and log history, completion times, mood selections, skip reasons, hydration records, guided-system progress, preferences, theme choices, and App Lock settings.
Selected summary information may also be stored in a protected shared area on your device so Habiture's home-screen widgets can display the habit, guided system, progress, and hydration information you choose.
Widget content may be visible while your device is unlocked or according to your device's home-screen and notification privacy settings.
Local-first does not mean that no information ever leaves your device. Limited information is transmitted when required for analytics, diagnostics, subscriptions, advertising, security, support, community statistics, or a sharing action you initiate, as described below.
2.2 Support Information
Habiture does not require you to create a user-facing account.
If you submit a support request, we collect the information you choose to provide, which may include your name, contact email, support category, subject, message, and basic device diagnostics such as platform, operating-system version, and device model.
We use this information to respond to, investigate, and resolve your request and to prevent misuse of support services.
2.3 Usage, Analytics & Diagnostic Data
When Usage Analytics is enabled, Habiture and analytics service providers may collect limited event-level information to understand feature usage, improve reliability, measure engagement, and guide product development.
We design analytics events to avoid transmitting custom habit names, contact details, free-form support content, or your full habit history as analytics properties.
Analytics data may still be associated with a pseudonymous identifier and is therefore treated as user data under this Policy.
Crash, security, fraud-prevention, and essential performance information may be processed separately from optional usage analytics where reasonably necessary to operate and protect the Service.
- ✓Screens viewed, features used, and interaction events
- ✓Session, retention, and engagement information
- ✓Habit category, coarse progress or completion status, selected mood, selected skip reason, hydration events, and guided-content identifiers associated with an interaction
- ✓Premium-feature and subscription-flow interactions
- ✓App version, device type, operating-system information, language or region, and pseudonymous app or device identifiers
- ✓Crash logs, diagnostics, and performance information
2.4 Service, Community & Subscription Information
Habiture creates a pseudonymous service identifier to secure backend requests and support connected features.
This is not a user-facing account and does not require a password, email, or phone number.
The identifier may be used for app security, subscription entitlement validation, support routing, fraud prevention, and community interactions.
When you like, start, or complete eligible guided content, Habiture may transmit the guided-content identifier and event type to maintain aggregate community statistics.
We do not publish your individual habit history, mood entries, or identity as part of those statistics.
If you purchase or restore Premium, the app store and our subscription-management providers process information such as a pseudonymous app user identifier, product or plan, transaction and subscription identifiers, purchase status, renewal or expiration status, and entitlement state.
We do not directly receive or store your full payment-card details.
2.5 Optional Cloud Backup
Cloud backup is an optional feature that is switched off until you choose to enable it. Habiture works fully without it, and enabling it does not change how the app behaves on your device.
To use cloud backup you connect a Google account through Google Sign-In. We receive your email address and, where available, your display name from that account, and use them only to identify the backup account and show you which account is connected. Your Google password is never shared with us.
When you create a backup, a copy of your habit data is compressed and transmitted over an encrypted connection to our backup service. A backup may include habit names, goals, schedules, logs and progress history, notes, mood selections, skip reasons, hydration records, guided-system progress, momentum events, achievements, and app preferences.
Backups are stored with Cloudflare, Inc., which acts as our processor and hosts the backup database and stored backup files in the Asia-Pacific region. Backup content is not used for advertising or analytics, and is not sold or shared with advertisers.
Premium entitlement is deliberately excluded from backups and is never restored from one. Subscription status is always determined by the app store and our subscription provider.
We keep the five most recent backups for each account. Older backups are deleted automatically as new ones are created.
You can delete every stored backup, or your entire backup account, at any time from Settings, and you can request deletion without the app. See the Data Retention and Deletion section below.
3. Advertising
The free version of Habiture may display advertisements, including rewarded advertisements, to support ongoing development and provide access to certain experiences.
Advertising providers may process limited information such as device or advertising identifiers, IP-derived approximate location, app and ad interactions, ad impressions, engagement, and fraud signals.
This processing is subject to applicable law, your device settings, consent choices where required, and the advertising provider's policies.
We do not provide advertisers with your custom habit names, detailed habit history, mood history, support messages, or biometric information.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Device Permissions We Request
To provide its core functionality, Habiture requires specific device permissions. Permissions are used for the disclosed feature and are not used to access contacts, photos, precise location, microphone, or camera.
- ✓Notifications permission is used to deliver habit and hydration reminders and notification actions. Habit reminders are scheduled locally on your device.
- ✓Exact alarms permission is used to ensure your habit reminders trigger at the precise times you configure.
- ✓Auto-start permission is used to seamlessly restore your scheduled local reminders after your device restarts.
- ✓Wake lock permission is used momentarily to ensure reminders reliably trigger even when the device screen is off or idle.
App Lock and biometric authentication
If you enable App Lock, Habiture asks the operating system to authenticate you using an enrolled biometric method or available device credential.
Biometric templates remain under operating-system control. Habiture does not receive or store your fingerprint, face scan, or biometric template.
Sharing features
If you create a progress card or use another sharing feature, the information you select is transferred only after you invoke the device's sharing interface.
The receiving app or person then handles that information under their own privacy practices.
5. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
Habiture offers optional premium features. We do not process or store full payment-card details.
- ✓Payment Processing: All transactions are handled by the app store through which you obtain Habiture.
- ✓Subscription Management: Authorized service providers process pseudonymous identifiers, product and transaction information, subscription status, and entitlement information to validate and restore Premium access.
6. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
We disclose limited information only where needed to operate, protect, and improve Habiture, complete a transaction, comply with law, or carry out an action you request.
Service providers are authorized to process information for the relevant service subject to contractual, technical, and legal safeguards.
Some providers may process information in countries other than your own, where privacy laws may differ. We use appropriate safeguards where required by applicable law.
- ✓App stores and platform providers for app distribution, billing, device services, and subscription management
- ✓Cloud, security, and backend providers for authentication, app integrity, support routing, aggregate community features, and fraud prevention
- ✓Analytics and diagnostics providers for app interactions, reliability, crash reporting, performance, and product improvement
- ✓Advertising providers for displaying and measuring ads, limiting repetition, and preventing fraud
- ✓Professional advisers, authorities, or transaction parties where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, resolve disputes, or complete a corporate transaction with appropriate safeguards
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through the Habiture application.
These measures include private application storage, app-integrity controls, access restrictions, and encryption in transit when information is sent to authorized service providers.
No storage or transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Detailed habit and progress data remains on your device until you edit or delete it, clear Habiture's app data, or uninstall the app.
If you enable cloud backup, we keep the five most recent backups for your account and delete older ones automatically as new backups are created.
You can delete your cloud data at any time in Settings under Cloud Backup. Delete cloud backups removes every stored backup and keeps your account, while Delete account permanently removes your backup account together with all of its backups.
Deleting your backup account does not delete habits already stored on your device, so you can continue using Habiture without an account. Deletion of cloud data is immediate and cannot be undone.
If you no longer have the app installed, you can request deletion by emailing support@amalthealabs.com from the Google account you used to sign in.
Uninstalling Habiture does not cancel an active subscription. Subscription records are retained by the app store and authorized subscription providers according to legal, financial, fraud-prevention, and platform requirements.
Support correspondence is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, maintain support history, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
Analytics, diagnostic, security, and advertising information is retained according to configured retention periods and provider requirements, then deleted or aggregated where appropriate.
Aggregate or de-identified statistics may be retained when they no longer reasonably identify an individual.
You may request deletion of support information or other data reasonably associated with you by contacting support@amalthealabs.com.
We may need sufficient information to locate and verify the relevant records. Certain records may be retained where required for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or transaction integrity.
9. Children’s Privacy
Habiture is not directed toward children under the age of 13, or a higher minimum age where required by local law, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable age.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through Habiture, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10. Your Choices and Controls
You can control Habiture data and permissions through app settings and device settings.
Disabling Usage Analytics does not prevent processing that is reasonably necessary for billing, subscription entitlement, app integrity, security, fraud prevention, support you request, community actions you initiate, or essential service operation.
Disabling Usage Analytics also does not retroactively delete information already processed. You may contact us regarding deletion requests.
- ✓Turn off Usage Analytics in Habiture's Settings to stop future optional usage analytics and associated crash collection handled by that setting
- ✓Leave cloud backup switched off, or sign out of it at any time, to keep habit data on your device only
- ✓Delete your stored backups, or your entire backup account, in Settings under Cloud Backup
- ✓Edit or delete individual habit logs and habits within the app, or clear all local app data through device settings
- ✓Disable notifications, change reminder settings, or revoke notification permission through device settings
- ✓Disable App Lock or remove Habiture widgets from your home screen
- ✓Manage advertising choices, reset advertising identifiers, or restrict ad personalization through your device and applicable consent controls
- ✓Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Habiture, legal requirements, or our data practices change.
We will update the Effective Date above and may provide an in-app notice where a change is material or where required by law.
